Morgana Shaw's raw embodiment of the legendary Hollywood icon has astonished audiences from coast to coast since 2006, where she originated the role of "Bette Davis” in the World Premiere of Camilla Carr's ALL ABOUT BETTE: AN EVENING WITH BETTE DAVIS at Theatre Three in Dallas, Texas, directed by Jac Alder and soon after, again receiving raves at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina. She is a multiple award-winning veteran of theatre, film, television, and a proud AEA, SAG-AFTRA working union member. She last performed an excerpt of ALL ABOUT BETTE at the 2023- 30th Anniversary celebratory gala honoring Iconic women in Hollywood for The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival. She most recently made her New York Broadway debut at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre on March 11, 2024 in “LISTEN” of BROADWAY BACKWARDS, written and directed by Robert Bartley, performing opposite Jordan Fisher (Hadestown), and John McGinty (Our Town). February 2024-She starred as Ann Richards in the incredible one woman show -ANN by Holland Taylor at WaterTower Theatre. Before that, she was seen on stage, starring as LaVonda in the World Premiere of A VERY SORDID WEDDING, written and directed by the award-winning playwright/screenwriter, Del Shores. CAMILLA CARR (Playwright/Screen & Television Writer/Novelist/Actor) is a three-time recipient of the Hollywood DramaLogue Award, has been honored with the Robbie, Oscar Wilde and the AGLA Media Awards, as well as a Proclamation from the City of Los Angeles for acting and producing. She is currently adapting and developing a television serial based on Janice Woods Windle’s bestseller, HILL COUNTRY, under the McCoy Films banner with Executive Producer Laray Mayfield (Emmy recipient, Casting, HOUSE OF CARDS). Camilla’s multiple award-winning, one-woman show, ALL ABOUT BETTE: An Interlude With Bette Davis starring Morgana Shaw, first premiered at Theatre 3. Optioned by seven-time Tony Award recipient, Michael A. Jenkins, the play has received top honors at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, as well the Luis Fernandez/Mimi Lazo production in Spanish at Bogata’s Iberoamericano de Teatro, the largest theatre festival in the world, where it received Best Performance and Play honors. Her critically acclaimed novel, TOPSY DINGO WILD DOG, published both here and in the UK, generated her career writing for the screen. She has written for Academy Award recipient/nominees Holly Hunter, Amy Madigan, Brenda Blethyn, Dolly Parton and Brad Dourif.
